In my holistic approach to well-being, I often speak about healing the body, mind, and spirit. But I want to take a moment to clarify what I mean when I say spirit, because it might not be what you expect.

For me, spirit isn’t about anything supernatural or religious. Instead, I use it to describe something deeply personal and human: your current emotional state.

Happy brown puppy runs through a puddle at sunrise, splashing water. Vibrant orange and green background, conveying joy and energy.

Spirit as Emotional Well-being

Think about the moments when you feel light, uplifted, and full of energy. Now, think about the times when everything feels heavy, stuck, or unbalanced. That shift in feeling, that emotional state, is what I mean when I talk about the spirit.

Our emotions shape our experiences, influence our physical health, and determine how we interact with the world. If our emotional state is nurtured and balanced, our body and mind can thrive too.

Why This Matters in Holistic Healing

When I focus on supporting the spirit, I’m focusing on helping you feel emotionally aligned, at peace, or empowered — whatever balance means for you. Whether through counseling, chromotherapy, or other healing practices, my goal is always to support your emotional well-being as part of the bigger picture of health.

So, whenever you see me talking about spirit in my work, know that I’m talking about something very real: your emotions, your inner world, and the way you feel in the present moment.

I would love to hear your thoughts. what does spirit mean to you?
