Bridging the Ancient and the Modern

For centuries, healers have understood that the natural elements, like sunlight, water, and colour, carry the power to restore balance. Ancient cultures across Egypt, India, and Greece practised forms of light therapy, using coloured glass and sunlight to harmonise the body’s energy systems.

Today, modern science is beginning to validate what these traditions have known intuitively: that light and colour profoundly influence our physical, emotional, and mental well-being. From hospital light therapy used to treat neonatal jaundice to blue-light lamps that help manage seasonal depression, the healing potential of light is well-documented.

At JuneAura, I integrate this timeless wisdom with contemporary understanding to offer solarised water therapy, a method that uses water exposed to specific wavelengths of sunlight to support the body’s natural processes.

This is a gentle, holistic practice, part of a broader chromotherapy approach, carefully personalised to each individual, and not a miracle cure or quick fix.

What is Solarised Water?

Solarised water is ordinary water transformed by sunlight and colour.

When water is placed in coloured glass and left to absorb natural sunlight, subtle yet measurable changes occur:

  • Sunlight naturally purifies water.

Ultraviolet (UV) rays in sunlight can neutralise certain microorganisms, acting as a mild sterilisation process.

(This principle is so reliable that some rural communities worldwide use solar UV purification to make drinking water safe)

  • Coloured glass filters specific wavelengths of light.

Each colour corresponds to a certain light frequency.

For example, blue glass allows only calming, cooling blue wavelengths to pass through, while red glass allows energising, warming red wavelengths.

  • Structured water and energy resonance.

Research into water’s molecular structure suggests that external energy sources, like light, can subtly alter the arrangement of water molecules.

While still being explored scientifically, studies in biophysics show these changes may influence how water interacts with living tissues.

The result is water that has been infused with a particular vibrational quality, ready to be used as part of a therapeutic process, whether sipped, applied to the skin, or incorporated into other rituals of care.

The Science of Colour and the Human Body

Modern research continues to explore how different light wavelengths affect the body.

Here’s what science shows us so far:

  • Blue light

    • Has a calming effect on the nervous system.

    • Used clinically to lower blood pressure and ease stress responses.

    • Helps regulate sleep cycles by influencing melatonin production.

  • Green light

    • Associated with pain relief in studies on migraine and chronic pain.

    • Supports balance and emotional stability.

    • Often linked with feelings of renewal and harmony.

  • Red light

    • Used in medical therapies to stimulate circulation and promote tissue repair.

    • Encourages warmth and vitality.

When sunlight passes through coloured glass, these wavelengths are isolated and captured, allowing us to harness their specific therapeutic properties through solarised water.

Why Solarised Water Works as Part of a Holistic Method

Water is a universal carrier. It moves through every cell in our body, supporting every biological process.

By solarising water, we create a medium that carries not just hydration, but subtle vibrational information.

At JuneAura, I don’t stop at simply preparing solarised water.

I use it within a structured chromotherapy treatment plan, tailored to each client’s needs.

This may include:

  • Selecting colours based on your physical and emotional state.

  • Guiding you on when and how to use the solarised water (drinking, bathing, or topical application).

  • Combining solarised water with other therapeutic practices, such as sound therapy, aromatherapy, or mindful rituals, for a complete holistic experience.

This method is safe, gentle, and designed to support the body’s natural ability to heal, rather than replace medical care.

How to Make Solarised Water at Home

If you’d like to explore this practice yourself, here’s a safe and simple way to begin:

You’ll need:

  • A clean glass bottle or jar made from coloured glass (blue, green, or yellow are most common),

  • Fresh, filtered drinking water,

  • Access to direct sunlight.

Method:

  1. Fill the coloured glass container with fresh water.

  2. Place it in direct sunlight for at least 2-3 hours. For a gentler infusion, morning light is best; for a more energising effect, use midday light.

  3. Once infused, store the water in a cool, clean space and use it within 24-48 hours.

This is a simple introduction. For deeper therapeutic work, colour selection, exposure times, and application methods should be personalised, which is where guided consultation becomes important.

For added benefits, you can add herbs or essential oils to the water during the solarisation process. Herbs like chamomile, peppermint, or lavender can infuse the water with additional healing properties.

A Practice of Connection and Care

In a fast-paced, over-stimulated world, solarised water offers a moment to pause, connect, and restore balance. Each bottle represents a small act of reverence to the sun, to water, and to your own inner landscape.

At JuneAura, I honour this ancient practice while grounding it in scientific knowledge and modern wellbeing principles. My consultations help you explore which colours and techniques are right for you, ensuring the process is safe, intentional, and deeply aligned with your needs.
